  • According to the article, the kids were doing this to disrupt class and this was AFTER the principal asked them to stop using the word. That is completely inappropriate and the principal was justified to act as he did.

  • Some religions (specifically Mormonism, Catholicism, Islam and some Protestant sects) promote having many children (more believers). Practitioners are fully aware of contraceptive methods but choose not to use any due to their religious beliefs.

  • Rather than give them a license to procreate, why not put a moratorium on procreation and require people who want kids to ADOPT those that are already here? Better yet, why not pay married couples who deliberately choose to remain childless that nice amount of cash?

  • Because taking money in the form of taxes reduces what individuals and businesses have on hand meaning they have less to spend/invest in other things that can actually grow jobs and the economy rather than using it to fund a bloated government. It's not magic, it's simple economics.

  • Scuba is correct though: The CDC ordered medical providers to STOP testing specifically for H1N1 and report any cases that "looked like" H1N1 as H1N1. There are articles out there about this should you care to read them.

  • I read an article recently where medical providers admitted they were TOLD by CDC to stop testing for H1N1 and to record any cases that "looked like" H1N1 as H1N1. That sort of approach on its own will lead to inaccuracy and inflated results.
